    Community Grants Program

    Each year the Rotary Club of Box Hill Burwood supports local community groups within our locale through our Community Grants Program.  Grants assist local groups to provide necessary services that benefit our local community. Over the last 23 years Rotary Box Hill Burwood have been proud to support over $1.2 million dollars worth of projects locally and internationally.

    • You will need all your documents on hand to submit.
    • Submissions need to be made in one sitting, so ensure you have all relevant information prior to starting application.

    COMMUNITY GRANTS PROJECTS: Selection Criteria

    Eligibility for funding through Community Grants is dependent on the following criteria:

    The organization must be an existing group delivering community service within the City of Whitehorse, with priority given to those in Box Hill and Burwood neighborhood's at the discretion of the Grants Committee.

    The organization should be incorporated and have published an annual report and accounts within the previous twelve-month period.

    Preference will be given to projects that support Rotary's 7 areas of focuses.

    • Education and literacy,
    • Disease prevention and management
    • Water, sanitation, hygiene
    • Economic empowerment and Community Development
    • Environmental protection
    • Maternal and child health
    • Peace and conflict prevention

    Funding is to be for a specific program, project, or piece of equipment, but not for normal recurrent expenditure items.

    Strict accounting rules apply to ensure that the funds were spent in accordance with the grant submission. Photographic or written evidence of completion needs to be submitted to the Community Services Coordinator upon completion of your nominated project. A Community Grants Committee member will contact recipients to monitor progress of grant project where required. All projects must be completed within 12 months from receipt of grant.

    The Rotary Club reserves the right not to disburse funds, in part or at all, if suitable submissions are not received or recipient organisations are not compliant with grant conditions.

    Relationships forged with applicants, whether successful or not, could lead to alternative support projects being developed between the two organizations at the discretion of the Rotary Club of Box Hill Burwood and its committees.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    2026 Grants open 2nd February 2026 - from 10am

    The total allocation for distribution through our Community Service grants initiative in any one year is decided upon annually by the Board, as is the maximum grant allocation per project.

    How to apply:

    Complete the new digital application form, attach all relevant quotes and a copy of your most recent Annual Report.

    Application needs to be completed and submitted in one sitting. Substantiating documents will need to be uploaded to a separate link found on the bottom of the application.

    Maximum grant: $3,500.00

    Closing date for applications: Friday 10th April 2026 – by 5pm

    Applicants will be contacted by 1st May 2026 and informed if successful or unsuccessful.

    Successful applicants will be required to give a short presentation at our Community Grants Presentation Night on Tuesday 19th May 2026.
