DESCRIPTION:Next Meeting – 3rd February -Alli Parker -Author\n\n\n\n\nJoin us when we welcome back Alli Parker to our club \nAlli Parker is a Japanese-Australian author and screenwriter who lives on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. \nHer debut novel At the Foot of the Cherry Tree is based on the true story of the first Japanese war bride to arrive in Australia\, Cherry Parker\, who is also Alli’s grandmother. \nThe book became an instant bestseller and was shortlisted for Dymocks Book of the Year and an ABIA Award for Best New Writer. \nShe has written episodes of Jack Irish\, Secret Bridesmaids’ Business and Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries and worked in the script departments of Irreverent\, Sunshine and Please Like Me. \nWe look forward and are excited to her from Alli and hear about her newest book “Until The Red Leaves Fall” to see you all there. \nAlli will have copies of her book available for purchase as well. \nMeeting in the Upton Room\, Box Hill RSL\n6pm for 6:15pm start\, 3rd February\, 2026 \nOr join via Zoom on link on home page\nDinner is available in the RSL Bistro following the meeting

DESCRIPTION:Join us when we welcome Maureen Boaler from Story Dogs to our club. \nMaureen Boaler is a regional co-ordinator for the Story Dogs program based in Melbourne. She has been volunteering with her dog for 10 years. We look to her providing us with a wonderful insight into the amazing impact that dogs can have in assisting students learning to read. \nRecently our Rotary club has become a sponsor of the Story Dogs program at St Scholastica Primary School in Burwood and so this is a great opportunity to find out more about the program. \nWe look forward and to hearing from Maureen on Tuesday. \nMeeting in the Upton Room\, Box Hill RSL\n6pm for 6:15pm start\, 17th February\, 2026 \nOr join via Zoom on link on home page \nDinner is available in the RSL Bistro following the meeting.
