DESCRIPTION:Join us to hear George Petrou speak about his book The Art of Sacrifice. \nThe Art of Sacrifice is the haunting and poignant product born of a transformative period in renowned Melbourne artist\, George Petrou’s life. \nThe book tells George’s personal story – of his commitment to honouring the service of many of Australia’s service \npersonnel\, of how this commitment helped him personally through the challenges \nof chemotherapy\, and how his work has touched thousands across Australia. \nOver 70 portraits\, 63 stories\, 425 pages and numerous serendipitous moments\, George explores the idea of valour\, \nof courage\, bravery\, and of sacrifice. Using images of the past and stories of today\, he connects the past with our present within a unique and powerful environment. \nMeeting in the Upton Room\, Box Hill RSL \n6pm for 6:15pm start\, 4th April 2023 \n  \nDinner is available in the RSL Bistro however non Rotary club members will need to book separately if they wish to have dinner following the meeting
